About Allan

Allan Buckett is a distinguished sculptor and painter whose work bridges the poetic and the elemental. Born in London and now based in Dublin, Allan’s artistic journey spans over five decades, beginning with a First Class Honours degree in Fine Art (Sculpture) from St. Martin’s School of Art in 1975.

His practice is rooted in abstract freestanding metal sculpture, often exploring the interplay between nature, movement, and form. Allan’s work has been exhibited extensively across Ireland and the UK, including prestigious venues such as the Serpentine Gallery, Whitechapel Galleries, and Sculpture in Context at the Botanic Gardens. His pieces—like Crann Airgead, Fleeting Moment, and Magnetic Colours—evoke a tactile dialogue between material and meaning, often drawing inspiration from Irish landscapes and wildlife.

In addition to his studio practice, Allan worked for many years as an antiques and fine art restorer, bringing a deep sensitivity to craftsmanship and historical context. He has also studied jewellery making and drawing at NCAD Dublin, further enriching his multidisciplinary approach. Allan welcomes bespoke commissions and collaborative projects. His sculptures are not only visual statements but also invitations to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the natural world.
